Fluffy Homemade Cinnamon Bread

It's fall!! Turn on your oven and bake! This recipe is so warm and welcoming. It's like a cinnamon roll but not nearly as guilty. In fact, I actually like it better because it's not too sweet at all. It's just the right amount of sweetness without all that glaze on top. I don't like raisins so I made myself a loaf without raisins, but my mama likes raisins so hers have raisins. This recipe is easy!! A little time consuming but you're not really doing anything except waiting for it to rise! Enjoy!

Yields 2 loaves in 8.5 x 4.5 pan

Recipe:
4 cups bread flour
1 cup milk
1/4 warm water
2 1/2 tsp yeast
2 tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp melted shortening
1 egg
2 tbsp ground cinnamon
1/4 cup sugar
2 tbsp melted butter
raisins (optional)

Step 1: with 1/4 cup warm water, add your yeast in it.

Step 2: Combine the flour, sugar, salt, shortening, egg, milk, and yeast mixture in a mixer and let it run until an elastic dough forms.

Step 3: once formed, place the dough in a greased bowl and let rise for 2 hours or until doubled its size.

Step 4: Combine the 1/4 cup of sugar and 2 tbsp of cinnamon together. Divide the dough in half, then roll out your dough to a rectangle and sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar mixture. Roll it towards you as tight as you can, tuck in the ends, seam side down, and place it in your loaf pan. Set temperature to 350 degrees.

If you want raisins, sprinkle on some raisins on top and roll it towards you as stated in Step 4.

Step 5: Let it rise at a warm place until loaves have doubled its size. With an egg wash, gently brush it over your rised yummy cinnamon bread so it can brown in the oven nicely. Place in the oven and let it bake for 35 minutes!

Step 6: Wait for it to cool slightly before serving. You're done! It makes you house smell like YOU NEED TO COME INSIDEEE! So warm and deliciousssss!
so flofffyy!! just a hint of sweetness. its like a cinnamon roll but not nearly as guilty!!
